noise-remover.com is an AI-powered online tool that removes background noise from audio and video files and enhances voice quality. Upload any audio or video file, choose a preset, and our AI processes it in under 60 seconds — removing hum, hiss, reverb, traffic, keyboard clicks, fan noise, and more while preserving voice clarity.

It's designed for podcasters, YouTubers, voiceover artists, remote teams, developers, and anyone who wants professional-quality audio without expensive studio equipment or complex software.

You can try the Studio without an account to see how it works. To actually process and download files, you'll need a free account (email verification required). Signing up takes under 60 seconds and gives you 15 free minutes every month — no credit card needed.

Our AI handles virtually all types of background noise, including:

  • Air conditioning and HVAC hum
  • Keyboard and mouse clicks
  • Traffic and street noise
  • Fan and electrical hum
  • Room reverb and echo
  • Wind noise (indoor and outdoor)
  • Crowd chatter and background voices
  • White noise and static hiss
  • Electrical interference and buzz
  • Computer cooling fan noise

The AI identifies the difference between your voice and everything else, then removes it while keeping your voice completely natural and unprocessed-sounding.

Yes — noise-remover.com is fully responsive and works on iPhone, Android, iPad, and any device with a modern browser. You can upload files directly from your phone's camera roll or file system. All processing happens on our servers, so your mobile device performance doesn't affect the quality or speed of noise removal.

Most audio files under 10 minutes are processed in under 60 seconds. Longer files (30–60 minutes) typically take 3–5 minutes. Paid plan subscribers are placed in a priority queue, which is noticeably faster during peak hours. Free users may experience slightly longer wait times during high-traffic periods.

Free users can upload files up to 200MB and up to 15 minutes in duration. Monthly subscribers can upload files up to 60 minutes long. Yearly subscribers can upload files up to 120 minutes long. Enterprise customers have custom limits configured as part of their contract.

Yes — use the Music preset for recordings with vocals or instruments. This preset applies a lighter touch of noise removal that preserves the natural tone and warmth of music while removing room noise and hiss. It avoids the over-processing artefacts that can occur when applying heavy speech-optimised denoising to musical content. For voice-heavy music (acoustic vocals, singer-songwriter recordings), the results are excellent.

Our free plan is effectively a permanent free tier — not a time-limited trial. Create an account and get 15 minutes of noise removal every month, forever, at no cost. No credit card required at any point unless you choose to upgrade to a paid plan. We believe in letting our results speak for themselves before asking for payment.

Noise removal & presets 9 answers

When in doubt, use Auto — it analyses your specific file and picks the best settings. For specific use cases:

  • Podcast — solo recordings and interviews. Adds warmth and presence, removes room noise.
  • Video — YouTube, Reels, TikTok. Crisp highs, punchy mids, content-ready sound.
  • Call — Zoom, phone, conference recordings. Maximum speech clarity and noise suppression.
  • Voiceover — ads, narration, audiobooks. Studio-grade presence without harshness.
  • Music — vocals, acoustic instruments. Natural, gentle denoising that preserves tone.

Some voice enhancement (EQ, compression, presence boost) is applied alongside noise removal, which is intentional — it improves overall audio quality. If you prefer a more transparent result, try switching from Podcast or Voiceover to the Auto preset, which applies a lighter enhancement. For the most transparent output, the Music preset applies the least voice processing.

Yes — for recordings with very heavy background noise, running the output file through again with the same or a different preset can further reduce residual noise. However, each pass also processes the voice signal, so more than two passes may start to affect voice quality. We recommend: first pass with Auto, then if needed, a second pass with Call for heavy noise scenarios.

Try these steps in order:

  1. Switch to the Call preset, which applies the most aggressive noise removal.
  2. If using a low-bitrate MP3 (below 128kbps), convert it to WAV first using a free tool, then upload the WAV — highly compressed audio limits what any noise removal system can recover.
  3. Run the output file through a second pass.
  4. If you're still not satisfied, contact support and attach the original file — we'll investigate and may be able to suggest a better approach for your specific recording conditions.

Absolutely — this is one of the most common use cases. Export your Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet recording as an MP4 or MP3, then upload it to noise-remover.com. Use the Call preset for recordings with multiple participants in different environments. Our AI processes each voice in the mix and removes background noise across all participants.

Yes — our AI handles multi-speaker recordings well. It identifies human speech (regardless of how many speakers are present) as the signal to preserve, and removes everything else. Use the Podcast preset for interview-style recordings or Call for conference call recordings with many participants.

Our tool is optimised for removing non-musical ambient noise from voice recordings. Background music removal (music stem separation) is a different technical problem. While our AI will reduce low-level background music in some cases, it is not designed or optimised for this use case. For music stem separation, we recommend dedicated stem separation tools.

All languages — our noise removal AI works purely on the audio signal and has no understanding of language content. It identifies human speech characteristics (frequency patterns, tonality, voice structure) rather than words or language, so it works equally well on English, Urdu, Arabic, Mandarin, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and every other language.

Processed files are available for download for 1 hour after processing completes. After that, they are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers. We recommend downloading your file immediately after processing. If you need to re-download, simply upload and re-process the original file — it counts towards your monthly usage.

File formats & compatibility 6 answers

Audio: MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG, AIFF, AAC

Video: MP4, MOV

Maximum file size is 200MB for free users. All formats up to the size limit are accepted. If your file is larger, consider compressing it first or upgrading to a paid plan.

Free plan: WAV only (lossless, high quality)

All paid plans: WAV · MP3 · FLAC · M4A · OGG · AIFF

WAV is the highest-quality format for editing — use it as your master file before exporting to a compressed format for distribution. MP3 is ideal for podcast distribution. FLAC is lossless compressed, perfect for archiving. M4A is ideal for Apple ecosystem use.

  • WAV — for video editing (Premiere Pro, DaVinci, iMovie). Lossless, maximum quality.
  • MP3 — for podcast publishing, social media, anywhere file size matters.
  • FLAC — for archiving or distributing to clients who need hi-res audio.
  • M4A — for Apple devices, GarageBand, Logic Pro workflows.
  • OGG — for web/game audio, open-source environments.
  • AIFF — for professional audio production on Mac, Pro Tools workflows.

Not currently — we only accept file uploads. To process a YouTube video, download it first as an MP4 or MP3 using a YouTube downloader (please check YouTube's Terms of Service regarding downloading), then upload the file to noise-remover.com. Direct URL import is on our roadmap.

Processing always improves perceptual audio quality by removing noise and enhancing voice. Technical quality (sample rate, bit depth) is preserved at the level of your input file. If you download as WAV, the output is lossless. If you download as MP3, standard bitrates are applied (320kbps for paid users). We recommend uploading in the highest quality format available and downloading as WAV for editing.

Currently the Studio page processes one file at a time. For batch processing, use our REST API — you can submit multiple files simultaneously and use webhooks to receive notifications when each is complete. The API is available on Dev ($19/mo), Pro ($49/mo), and Business ($99/mo) plans. Native batch upload in the Studio UI is on our roadmap.

Billing & payments 8 answers

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) via Stripe, and PayPal for both recurring subscriptions and one-time Pay As You Go purchases. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also available on compatible devices through Stripe checkout.

Yes — cancel any time from your dashboard under Billing. No forms, no phone calls, no retention flow. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period, after which it reverts to the free tier. No partial refunds are issued for unused days within a billing period.

Never. Pay As You Go minutes remain in your account indefinitely until you use them. Whether you use them next week or three years from now, they will still be there. This makes PAYG the best option for occasional users who don't process audio every month but want the flexibility of having minutes available when they need them.

All paid plans come with a 7-day money-back guarantee. Email support@noise-remover.com within 7 days of your first payment with your receipt number and we'll issue a full refund — no questions asked. After 7 days, subscription payments are non-refundable but you can cancel at any time to stop future charges.

Your account reverts to the free tier — 15 minutes per month, WAV download only. Your job history and account data are preserved. You won't lose anything — you'll just have the limitations of the free plan. You can upgrade again at any time. Any unused PAYG minutes are preserved indefinitely.

Yes. We offer discounted pricing for verified students, educational institutions, and registered nonprofits. Email support@noise-remover.com with proof of your status (student ID, institution email, or nonprofit registration number) and we'll set you up with a discounted plan. Discounts are typically 30–50% off standard pricing.

Payments are typically processed instantly. If your dashboard still shows the free plan after 5 minutes, try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R). If the problem persists, email support@noise-remover.com with your payment receipt number. We resolve these issues within the hour during business hours and always within 24 hours.

Yes — the Yearly plan at $107.88/year saves you 30% compared to paying monthly ($14.99 × 12 = $179.88). Yearly subscribers also get additional perks: files up to 120 minutes long (vs 60 on monthly), early access to new features, and priority support. Switch to yearly at any time from your billing settings.

API & developer questions 6 answers

Subscribe to any API plan (Dev at $19/mo, Pro API at $49/mo, or Business at $99/mo) on the pricing page. Once subscribed, your API key is generated instantly in your dashboard under API Keys. The full API documentation is at noise-remover.com/api with code examples in cURL, Node.js, Python, and PHP.

Overage is billed at the end of each billing cycle at these rates:

  • Dev plan: $0.05 / additional minute
  • Pro API plan: $0.04 / additional minute
  • Business plan: $0.03 / additional minute

You can set up low-balance email alerts in your dashboard to avoid unexpected charges. We also send an email warning when you've used 80% of your plan minutes.

Yes — webhooks are available on the Pro API and Business plans. Configure a webhook URL in your dashboard and we'll POST a notification to your endpoint when each job completes (or fails), including the download URL. Webhooks are signed with your API secret so you can verify authenticity. The Dev plan uses polling instead of webhooks.

  • Dev plan: 60 requests/minute
  • Pro API plan: 120 requests/minute
  • Business plan: 300 requests/minute

If you require higher rate limits, contact business@noise-remover.com to discuss an Enterprise plan with custom limits.

Our API is a standard REST API — it works with any language or platform that can make HTTP requests. We provide official code examples for cURL, Node.js, Python, and PHP. Community-contributed examples exist for Ruby, Go, and Java. See the full API documentation for details.

There is no separate sandbox environment — the Dev API plan ($19/mo) is designed to serve as a development and testing tier. It gives you 1,500 minutes per month at the lowest cost, which is ample for integration testing. Successful test calls count against your monthly minutes but the cost per minute is low enough that typical integration testing doesn't add up to significant usage.
